Back to work and back to the rhythm of house work at the weekends. The dogs make the most of us at the weekend. Dolly Knockers loves a lap. The washing has dried on the line outside, the house has been cleaned and we're watching 'Strictly'........don't you love it too?
I've made six more cushions today. I made Roman blinds and curtains with these fabrics so I made cushions from leftover fabric. It's been sat in storage boxes for months and now it has a use. I bought the cushion pads online for £1.12 each with free postage. I've got six more to make; they're mainly for gifts.
Scruffy sneaks upstairs whenever the stair gate is open and he's doing a great job of testing the new cushions. Does anyone else have a dog as lazy as mine? I swear Bichons were bred just to be fluffy and cute.
The evenings have cooled down and it was lovely to fill the log basket and light the wood stove. We bought the wood before the summer and it's dried out even more in the good weather. I love having a shed full of warmth, clothes drying and comfort already paid for.
No outings, no meals out, just a bit of gardening, house work, laundry and some fun in my sewing room. Holidays are great but I equally enjoy my working week and domestic weekends. I also enjoy the changing seasons, dusting off the slow cooker, building up to winter recipes.
Roll on autumn, muddy walks in wellies, wood fires and soups for lunch.
