Hello Dear Reader,
Nothing styled here! My oven is on its last legs and most thing 'catch' but here's my gluten free lasagne. I've cooked tonight and there's enough for me to have a night off tomorrow night. Here's how I make it.
300g of lean minced beef.
4 large carrots, chopped down and then chopped finely in the food processor.
Chop half a head of celery - 20p from Aldi.
Throw two onions and the celery in the food processor.
Finely chop in the food processor. It saves my hands which are horridly painful at the moment.
The meat and veggies then get cooked down together on the stove. When they've browned, I add a teaspoon of garlic granules, a teaspoon of mixed herbs, half a jar of tomato paste, a stock capsule and two cups of water. Simmer for thirty minutes.
I make the cheese sauce in the microwave. I don't weigh anything. I melted some butter.
I added some gluten free flour, I use cornflour. Blend with the butter.
I then added a litre of milk, blend and microwave for ten minutes. I take it up after five to give it a stir.
I then grated and added 220g of cheese and microwaved on full heat for another two minutes.
To assemble a layer of gluten free lasagne. I don't cook it, I also added a little oil.
Meat sauce.
Cheese sauce. When I add a layer of lasagne and push it down, the sauce spreads out.
Another layer of lasagne and repeat.
Top with cheese sauce. I added tomatoes as they needed using up.
The kitchen light makes it look burnt but it's just 'caught'.
Deep, meaty, cheesy lasagne. Messy family cooking and eaten with lettuce and tomatoes.
Until tomorrow,
Love Froogs xxxxxx
