Hello Dear Reader,
A nifty thrifty weekend here. Here are my frugal activities that kept me busy.
I dug out a dress pattern you sent me a while ago and some fabric I've had for ages. I went to You Tube and watched tutorials on how to sew stretch fabric. I then made myself a new dress. I lengthened the pattern to fit my 5' 10" frame and I now have something brand new and Made in Cornwall in my wardrobe!

More free wood arrived today, so DB made it a little shed of its own from savaged timber he had lying around. We used some of the wood as I got all the laundry done and dried I front of the wood stove. It's now all ironed and neatly folded and put away.
I've had another declutter. I had a cupboard full of cookery books. I tend to go to the Internet for recipes now. I've kept some but I took three carrier bags to the British Heart Foundation. They have a brilliant book section at the back of the shop and I hope they raise a few quid for them.
My freezer still has enough meat and fish for the week so no need to go back to the butcher yet. The last time I went my massive bargain was 20 burgers for £1.99 and the only ingredient was beef. 10p each. Tonight, we're having bolognaise and the mince I used was a five of those burgers crumbled and broken to make them mince again.
So, my five frugal things.
1. Made a dress with the pattern I altered and fabric I already had.
2. Stacked all the free fire wood away.
3. Dried all the laundry in front of the fire.
4. Took three carrier bags of cookery books to the charity shop.
5. Didn't go to the butchers or grocery shopping, still eating what we have.
Over to you, what frugal things have you been up to this week or weekend?
Until tomorrow,
Love Froogs xxxxx
