Hello Dear Reader,
A really quick supper tonight. Courgette Fritters recipe HERE, with falafels and yogurt with mint and cucumber. I wanted to get down to the shoreline, so it was a case of eat and out.
We live fifteen minutes away from Looe. We arrived at 7.30, just as the spring tide had started to ebb and the light was beginning to fade. I love this time of year in Cornwall, we the Cornish start to get it back at the height of the tourist season wanes. It's also warm enough to still be in shorts and shirt sleeves in the evenings.
DB is looking at the mouth of Looe.
Here's the close up of the mouth of Looe harbour, with the banjo pier protruding into the sea. Spring tides in Looe mean the sea comes up to the edge of the streets. In winter, the right tide and weather conditions caused the streets around the harbour to flood. No floods tonight.
The spring tides and the lunar activity does bring the fish close to shore and the small day boats were making the most of the tides.
The small boat below may well have been out to crab pots, or be line fishing. Line caught fish from 'day boats' are sustainable and will be on restaurant tables tonight or at the latest for lunch tomorrow.
The air, the water and the walk is so soothing.
Should you win the lottery, then you might be able to buy a house looking out to sea.
To my right the light was fading as the sun set and cast the last few glimpses of day light.
Birds were feeding everywhere.
The last of the light before I couldn't take anymore photographs.
Just as the moon appeared over the horizon.
And home again, sure beats being sat in front of the goggle box.
A stroll at dusk and watching the moon rise.
Who else has seen the supermoon tonight?
Until tomorrow,
Love Froogs xx
