Did you get hit by the tail end of Bertha? It's been a lot windier here than I would like. I've been quite happy painting all day. Normally, we'd get out for a walk in the evening but it's so blowy that I'll be happy ironing in front of the TV. I've painted the chairs, the TV table and the lamp table and put a first coat of paint on my bedroom chests of drawers. I even managed to get the week's shopping done.
I still have a blind to make , curtains to swap from rooms to another and a skirt to hem..........and this is a holiday. Dearly beloved has worked hard in our living room and the chimney breast is painted.
We are just so close to having two rooms done.
I have no idea how much money a painter and decorator would cost but what I do know is that we have brightened the cottage up for very little money. So far, we've spent about £100 on paint and fabric. Then there was the £150 we spent on 'new' furniture. We've also spent £20 in a couple of charity shops on accessories and curtains. We set ourselves the target of renovating the whole cottage for £500 and so far we are on target.
I'm now off for a shower to get rid of the splashes of paint that seem to be all over me! Thanks again for the lovely supportive comments as they have really spurred me on.
