Hello Dear Reader,
I was asked to break down portion control to show what the weight actually looks like on my plate.
I then weighed out 50g of boiled potatoes.
I then filled the rest of my plate with steamed savoy and carrots.
I dont add any butter or oil as I add meat juices to the gravy.
As ever, I save on energy by plating up two meals for tomorrow.
My plates are vintage Woodsware and are 10" in diameter. I hope that shows how much we eat on one go.
It 's plenty for us.

I cooked a 2kg leg of lamb on Sunday and we're still eating it!!! To eat well, healthily and frugally, I get organised. I prepare ally veggies before I leave for work in the morning. I cooked the lamb on Sunday and sliced it ready to eat. I just microwaved it tonight.
I start by putting my plate on the digital scales and I 'zero ' it. I then measure out 100g of lamb.
